When I think of Farrington High School Mainland Alumni Association based here in California, I am just amazed at the passion of the people in the organization. Without these uncles and aunties - all alumni of FHS, opportunities would not be possible. I would not be possible. Their spirit promotes the Farrington High School motto that we all know so well to “Enter to Learn, Go Forth to Serve.”
Having been the 1st recipient of the scholarship in 1991 early on during it's inception I've come full circle with the FHSMAA ohana. Even up here in the mainland it seems the cycle of giving and uplifting the Farrington Way continues. I am proud to say that I am a lifetime member of FHSMAA. Our annual scholarship fundraisers weave fun, family and friendship all through the thread of Farrington High School. It's been great to help at Ho'olaulea's and previous annual gatherings whether it be dinners in Gardena, picnics in Long Beach and this coming October, karaoke in La Palma!

Day 1
We sold plants… plumeria, ti leaf, popolo, lilikoi, avocado, succulents, orchids, chili pepper… all donated by alumni and friends of alumni. We have one more day to go and business was very good. Working in the booth that was chaired by Ron Toguchi were Charlie & Geri Isara, Sandy & Louise Viloria, Michael Maeda (son of Al) & Agnes Maeda, Lisa Batulanon, Josephine Javinar, Lori Gube, Bert Servantes.
Day 2
We did really well in our booth today… selling plants that were donated by alumni and friends of alumni. A kind of touching event was a '59 grad who lives in Monrovia was at the Ho`olaulea for the first time, saw our booth, came over and just got teary-eyed from her nice remembrances of FHS. Her daughter also attended FHS for two years. Drucilla Burton… then Vern Romanowski showed up… '59 grad also to talk story with her.
