Farrington High School’s International Studies Academy – a modified “school within a school,” is a liberal arts academy built on academic goals that will introduce students to global issues and problems that affect mankind. Through the study of world languages, English, economics and history, students will experience cultures by investigating concepts and topics in geography, history, social, economic and environmental factors.

International Studies students will be part of a community of learners that will be mentored by a team consisting of teachers and experts in various fields and disciplines. They will be offered the opportunity to participate in various activities and events that will enhance their lives and broaden their perspectives of other cultures, including opportunities to travel abroad and participate in local international festivals.

The International Studies Academy is a two-year interdisciplinary program that will serve as a foundation to help guide students towards a variety of career fields, higher education, further vocational training or military service.
